Our Story

In February of 2021, Girls and Computer Science was launched by Founder and Executive Director Bo Jie Li and Co-Founder Abigail Zhang with similar passions for Computer Science. Since then, the Girls and Computer Science initiative has expanded internationally across 15+ countries impacting 900+ people and created meaningful workshops for aspirants.
Where are we?
Who is a part of GCS?
GCS is primarily made up of middle and high school students who have a goal of studying CS in the future. GCS also has university students from schools including: Stanford University, Harvard University, Georgia Tech, University of Toronto, Cal Poly, UMD, and more.
